Satghare Ram Mandir

Satghare Ram Mandir at Bandra West and the Building next to it was built more than 150 years back. There were only 4 to 5 building in Bandra West at that time and and rest of it was waste land / forrest.
The Ram Mandir orginally had status of Ganpati, Ram, Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman. There were no tiles in the temple and base was made of mud and cowdung as was with most of the temples at that time.
Late Shri Chintaman Satghare who was a great believer in Shri Sai Baba and who had also visited Shirdi and were personally blessed by Sai decided to renovate the temple so that it would be sustain over a long period. He spent his own personal savings to build tiles and also built a Shiva Lingam which was not present untill then.
The temple belongs to the Satghare family but is open for the public for prayers and offerings.
The property is currently under dispute and it is managed by theHigh Court.
It is advised not to deal with the family which is maintining the temple as the same has a number of pending FIRs against them for illegal construction, threatening the neighbours and making physical abuse.
